4 Ways To Utilize SecureGive Mobile Giving

SAME DAY payday loans Payday Loans

It is no secret that more and more organizations have made themselves accessible in a mobile environment. Church giving is no exception. Our friends at SecureGive have made it possible for churches to make 1-time and recurring giving available through any smartphone device. Here are 4 ways to leverage SecureGive mobile for your church.

1. Download the SecureGive App: The SecureGive app is available for iPhones and Androids

2. QR Codes: Did you know that churches can create branded QR codes? One of the most effective ways to market mobile giving at your church is to include branded QR codes on your church literature (Bulletins, handouts, sermon series, etc.). This allows a person to scan the code and access your mobile giving app directly. Here is an example QR code from Stevens Creek Church in Augusta, GA.

3. Church Apps/ Mobile Sites: Many churches have already established a mobile presence. This is a great start! You can implement your SecureGive mobile application within your existing Church App or Mobile Site.

4. Direct links : (Ex: mychurch.com/give) Short, catchy links are another way to allow donors quick and easy access to give. This is also a great marketing technique for your online giving and enhances your brand.

The Most Important Thing You Need to Know About Fundraising

Churches are non-profit organizations who engage in fundraising activities.  Yeah, you’re much MORE than that, but it’s still true.  You rely on the donations of other people to pay staff, cover facility costs and do ministry.

And so you raise money.

But most fundraisers completely miss one of the most important rules of fundraising, a rule so basic yet so powerful.

It’s not about you and your organization or your mission…it’s about them.

There are causes everywhere, with passionate people promoting them.  You’ve got to find a way to personally connect with donors on THEIR turf.  Maybe you’ve never thought about this, but you need to answer the question that every donor thinks:  “What am I going to get for donating to this?”

Church planters…the statistics about how many unchurched people live in a 10 mile radius doesn’t mean as much to your potential donors as they mean to you.  You’re talking about stats in your launch plan, but it’s white noise to everyone reading.

Church leaders…the opportunities, greater purpose and Kingdom potential is inspiring to a group of people, but most people don’t care.  I’m not saying they shouldn’t…I’m saying they don’t.

What are your thoughts on this?

Cyber Monday Email To Send To Church Database Today

Hey guys, just send this email out today. I KNOW it isn’t “proper” grammar and stuff… That is on purpose :)

Subject of Email: our church is participating in Cyber Monday!

Hey…it’s Pastor John.

Just wanted to touch base with you on “Cyber Monday!” A lot of people are shopping online today & shopping for gifts & I wanted to send you a quick note and tell you that I believe Cyber Monday can be a GOOD THING!

On Cyber Monday, people buy stuff online. That isn’t bad but it isn’t lasting. Our church exists to reach people that do not know Jesus and that IS lasting!

While you are out shopping today online, why not go here and give to God through the local church. I 100% believe that this investment is eternal & good for you and God’s Kingdom.

While you are giving gifts to people, let’s remember to honor God with our finances this year end! This is our cyber monday deal: 100% of your investment will go to reaching people for Jesus.

What do ya think? Let me know!

Pastor John

P.S. Here’s the link to cyber monday giving to Cross Church. :)

Yeah…We Went on a Cruise

A few weeks ago, about 40 of us spent five days sailing around the Bahamas on the first ever Giving Rocket cruise.  Why in the world would a company focused on church finances want to put on a cruise? It’s simple really…we wanted to help people relax and provide an environment for relationships to develop.  One of our mantras as a company is “think relationships not results”.  Plus, we just like having fun with people.
Just before dinner each evening, we gathered in the conference room (yes, cruise ships have conference rooms) and learned some stuff.
  • Dr. Ike Reighard talked about developing your personal leadership skills.  He brought a ton of wisdom to the room as he talked about making it for the long haul.
  • Justin and Trisha Davis shared their incredible redemptive marriage story and really encouraged everyone in the room.  It was a powerful night!
  • Joe Sangl was fired up as usual and talked about personal finances.  Tons of people walked away inspired and with a bunch of awesome ideas were generated that very night.
  • I talked about the need for relationships over results on the last night.
Our company paid for all of the speakers to be there, and those who attended the cruise just covered the cruise price.  We did this because we want to invest in people, not just have them as customers.
We ate a lot of food, hung out with each other, nearly died on scooters in the rain in the Bahamas and just had a great time relaxing.
It was awesome to get so many emails and tweets from people saying how much they appreciated the event.  We’re already working on next year’s event, and we’d love to see at least 100 of you come with us.

Happy Thanksgiving

Five Things You Probably Didn’t Know

Here are five things you probably didn’t know.

  1. Most cars have a little arrow next to the gas icon in the dashboard to let you know which side of the car contains the fuel tank.  Handy information if you rent cars.
  2. Chevy Chase turned down the role of Forrest Gump before Tom Hanks accepted it.
  3. A guy named Isaac Asimov wrote five hundred books in his lifetime.
  4. It’s statistically proven that late merging on Interstate on-ramps speeds up traffic flow.
  5. You can get a Giving Rocket membership for half-price if you pay for one year in advance.

You’re welcome.  Check out our Annual Core Membership here.

Say Thanks

It’s almost Thanksgiving.

Which means you’re about to eat too much food, watch too much football, and buy too much junk at 3 in the morning.

But you’ve also got the opportunity to say thanks to God, family and friends for all the good in your life. If you are a church leader, you’ve got the opportunity to say thanks to the people in your church who give.

I know you’ve got a vision and I know you need more, but do you say thanks to your people on a regular basis. When you do an initiative, you’ve got all kinds of build up, but are you just intentional in your follow up? As hard as you ask people to participate on the front end, do you thank them for their sacrifice on the back end.

One of the campuses at my church recently completed a renovation in the children’s area. I love how they updated the website with some “mission accomplished” language and took time in the service to just say thanks.

Let’s thank people for their donations. Let’s appreciate people for their generosity.

And then let’s eat some turkey.

Breaking Down the Barriers to Membership

Time and money.

Those are the two reasons that most people don’t do something.

  • You thought about going on a vacation, but it’s hard to find the time and you don’t have the money.
  • You need a new pair of shoes, but who wants to spend time going to the mall?
  • Your kids would like to take ballet, but you don’t think they have the time and you know you don’t have the money.

Not surprisingly, time and money are the two reasons people give us for NOT becoming a Giving Rocket core member. You’d love a Giving Rocket membership, but you don’t want to spend the money and you’re not sure you have the time.

Can I be honest with you?

If you’ve got TIME to worry about the financial condition of your church, talk about things with your team, seek advice from pastor friends, or try to make the budget work, you’ve got time to get intentional and be proactive about improving things. You’re ALREADY spending time on finances.

Besides…we cut through the fluff and show you exactly what to do. The Giving Talk scripts can be printed and handed to a volunteer. The copy-and-paste emails are ready to be sent to your donors. The systems are step-by-step. I believe you DO have the time to do this.

It’s somewhat ironic to me that people cite a lack of funding as the reason for not signing up for a program that has been proven to increase funding.

We have literally helped hundreds of churches increase operational revenue in their churches. Big churches with 5,000+ attenders and small church plants with 25 people gathering in a living room. Churches that implement just a portion of what we send see an increase far greater than the cost of membership. To further remove the money barrier, we offer a one-month trial membership for $1. You can test out the system with no risk

There isn’t a magic money button that churches can push, but you already know this. You already know that if it’s worth doing, it’s probably going to take time and money. I believe if you’ll make the investment…of time and money…and you’ll implement and execute over time, then you’ll see an increase.
