1. Â The same reason I will not eat at a restaurant unless they take check cards or credit cards! Â GET RELEVANT!
2. Â People don’t carry a lot of cash anymore
3. Â MOST places will not accept a personal check in the real world! People carrying check books are limited
4. Â It catches first time donors and low budget givers that would usually give nothing. Â (Tipping Machine)
5. Â You eliminate any barriers of why people don’t give
6. Â Its a very small investment for the return. ($2,500 for a countertop unit) and ($5,000 for nice standing unit)
PS… If I could buy something for $2,500 bucks that put $10,000 in my bank account in twelve months I would buy 1000 of them today! Â It’s called ROI – Return on Investment
7. Â Where our treasure is, our heart follows. Â The more people use the kiosk, the more of their heart they are giving to God.

What are your thoughts on kiosks in the church?

I remember many years ago, I am old remember, that I saw a cartoon of a offering plate that had a credit card scanner on it. This was like in the mid 80′s and I thought, that will never happen! Never say never.
One point I stress to clients about giving kiosks is that even if no one uses them they are visible reminders to give. The cool ones have video loop capability where you can show what your dollar is supporting.
What will we be recommending 25 years from now?
7 Reasons for avoiding use of Giving Kiosks …
1) Many would risk putting giving charges on their credit cards … sinking some deeper in debt.
2) Plants the seed that giving at church is like paying your electric bill.
3) Makes it harder to emphasize”giving as a worship experience” to our church people.
4) Places the focus for giving more on supporting the expenses of the church than it does giving to God as an expression of our love for Him.
5) The Bible speaks of “BRINGING your gifts to God” rather than just making it an easy electronic transaction.
6) Could we be making “giving too easy?” I know that sounds counter-intuitive … but David said he would not sacrifice unto God that which costs him nothing. Electronic funds transfers may, at the time, cost us little or nothing.
7) May too closely immitate the “methods of the world to raise funds” rather than seek to use giving as a way to allow God to raise mature stewards for Him.
I am concerned that we too often see giving as primarily a financial transaction … rather than a spiritual one. Remember … the Pharisees were the best givers of their day. Their method of giving kind of ticked off the Master. I hope we don’t miss the real goal in giving while trying to raise more dollars.
Dave, Most companies allow you to set up the Kiosk so that credit cards can not be used.
Wanted to ask if there is any companies that make giving kiosk without pushing their software? Also I want it to have a place to drop checks + cash too…
